Language Dubbing
Preview feature — Language Dubbing is fully functional but is still in preview and may change before general availability.
Language Dubbing lets you create a full multilingual copy of any AiToVid project. AiToVid translates your scripts and generates new AI narration in the target language — all in one workflow.
What Is a Language Variant?
A language variant is an independent copy of a project with:
- Scripts translated into the chosen language
- A separate AI voice selected for that language
- Its own audio generation lifecycle
The original (base) project is unchanged. You can have one variant per language per project.
Prerequisites
The source project must have scripts generated before you can create a language variant.
How to Create a Language Variant
- Open the project you want to dub.
- Click the Language Versions button in the project header.
- Click Add Language.
- Select the target language from the dropdown (29 languages available).
- Choose an AI voice appropriate for that language.
- Click Create.
AiToVid immediately charges 2 tokens per slide for translation and begins translating scripts in the background.
Workflow States
| State | What's Happening |
|---|---|
| Translating… | Scripts are being translated in the background |
| Awaiting Audio | Translation is complete; audio has not yet been generated |
| Ready for Export | Audio is generated; the variant can be exported as a video |
Viewing Your Variants
In the project dashboard, language variants appear nested under their source project. Click the dropdown arrow on the source project card to see all variants and switch between them.
Editing Translated Scripts
Before generating audio, you can edit the translated scripts just like any other project script. Open the variant in the editor, make your changes, and then generate audio.
Token Costs
| Operation | Cost |
|---|---|
| Translation | 2 tokens per slide (charged at variant creation) |
| Audio generation | 3 tokens per slide (billed when you generate audio) |
Audio is not generated automatically — you control when to spend those tokens.
Supported Languages
AiToVid supports 29 languages for Language Dubbing via ElevenLabs Multilingual v2:
Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
Limitations
- One variant per language per project — you cannot create two Spanish variants of the same project.
- Pronunciation guide is inherited at creation — the pronunciation guide from the source project is copied when the variant is created. Later changes to the source guide are not automatically applied to existing variants.
