Importing a Claude Design deck

The recommended way to create a narrated video is to design your deck in Claude Design and import the export zip. Your slides import exactly as you designed them — colors, fonts, logos, and layout are preserved 1:1 — and AiToVid adds narration and coordinated animation on top.

1. Design your deck in Claude Design

  • Ask Claude to create a presentation deck (16:9 slides). Decks of up to 100 slides are supported.
  • Use speaker notes. Anything you (or Claude) put in a slide's speaker notes is imported as that slide's draft narration and used as context when you generate scripts. A one-line cue per slide about what the narration should convey goes a long way.
  • A brand brief or design system in the same project helps Claude keep the deck on-brand — the design system travels inside the export and imports with your deck.

2. Download the export zip

  • In Claude Design, open your finished deck and choose Download / Export to save it as a .zip file.
  • Don't unzip it. The zip contains your deck, its design system, and its image assets together — AiToVid needs the whole bundle. (Up to 50 MB.)

3. Import it

  1. On your Projects page, click Create New Project.
  2. Under "Start from a deck", keep the Claude Design export (.zip) option selected and upload your zip.
  3. Name the project, pick a voice, and create it. Import costs 20 tokens per slide.

What happens on import

  • Every slide imports pixel-faithful — your design is never redesigned or reinterpreted.
  • Speaker notes become each slide's draft narration. Generate scripts to turn them into polished narration (the notes steer the writer), or edit them directly.
  • Animation hooks are added automatically so lists, cards, timelines, and stats can reveal in sync with the narration. Animation is on by default for imported decks.

Troubleshooting

  • "No deck found": the zip must contain a Claude Design deck (slides), not just a document. Re-export from the deck view.
  • Fonts look different: custom fonts load from Google Fonts at import; if a font is unavailable the slide falls back to a system font. Re-importing usually resolves transient failures.
  • A slide won't animate: slides with no list/card/image structure (e.g. a single full-bleed statement) stay static by design.
